Bosnia - continued
There were still time for cafés, and trying out the local beer; Sarajevsko
Pivo...
Does the beer look a bit pale? Well there is nothing wrong with the colors, it
looks like that... and it tastes like that.
Well well well... Red Bull ice cream... Or Red Bul. And it tasted exactly like that.
Men playing chess in front of the old OL building.
This picture illustrate the controversies of Sarajevo and Bosnia..
During the war there was actually not enough fields to bury the victims of the war. So arround Sarajevo there is a lot of these tiny graveyards.
The War Tunnel... This tunnel was build under the airport, which were UN
territory, from outside the the city. It was a passage for people, food, oil and
all sorts of very neccessary stuff for the people, who were captured inside
Sarajevo. It took years to build, and it has become a symbol of the resistance
during the war.
The bulletholes in the outside walls tell about the dangers, that the family
living in the house endured through the war.
Above ground. Peacefull now...
A wiev of some of the mountains surrounding the Vally, where Sarajevo lies.
Later we went to see the old olympic stadium..
This was a touching experience to see the huge graveyards next to the stadium. So many people have been burried next to this stadium, that was once just a place for sport and entertainment.
...
This is how it looks today...
But during the war, it looked like this. Like the government building, this was in the shooting line...
The goodbuy picture from Sarajevo. The beautifull old library being restored now.
All together a fantastic city... Go there, if you have the chance!
