Here is some of the pictures from my holiday travelling around with boyfriend Peter in two really interesting countries.
We started out in rainy Zagreb. The guy with the really ugly umbrella is Peter. The building behind him is the National Theater, with some really tacky angels on it.
Having lunch in front of a museum...
The best way of travelling is to go to a café at least three times a day... Here it is the Ozujsko beer being consumed. One of the cool things about Zagreb: Half a liter of beer costs 11kr or 1˝euro. The beer would probably be world famous, if it wasn't as damned hard to pronounce... ;)
A tram ride, to see the outer parts of the city... Or maybe just a sponsered comercial for CocaCola..?
The newly restored church...
And after two days in Zagreb we went to the capital of Bosnia: Sarajevo..
Bosnia
Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia. It has always contained
different types of inhabitants; Croats, bosnians and serbs. The city was under
siege during the war from 1990-1995, where the serbs and the croats attack from
either side. It meant a fearfull period for the habitant in Sarajevo. The war
ended in 1995, when UN finally bombed the serb positions.
Today Sarajevo is a wonderfull city full of cafés, culture and joyfull people.
Together with all this is the frightening signs to be found everywhere in the
city. This is a city, I would definitely recommend to everyone.
We are enjoying a real kebab in a street-cafe. The bullet-holes are visible in the wall behind.
The serbian orthodox church in the center of Sarajevo...
We went on a trip to see the war tunnel, but we got lost in the suburbs of Sarajevo. Here the remains of the war was clearly evident, and made a huge impression on us. The pictures sa
The government building was in the line of fire during the war... Now the gost-like remainings is a strong monument of the war.
...
Later in the evening we met with some people from the train and had some beers in a well hidden jazz-bar.
Well... :) A danish classic... But no golden lady on it.
